The basic details about camp.
One week prior to camp, parents receive a guide listing all of our locations, daily themes and necessary stuff to bring to camp.
Where . . . Basecamp locations vary for our camps and are listed with the description of the program in our Summer Camp Catalog. Our mobile camps for Grades 3-12 depart from the Mill Valley Middle School/Harrison Skate Park.
Transportation . . . For our camps for Grades 3 and up, we use new or like new fuel efficient mini and 12 passenger vans driven by responsible adults to access our locations. For all other camps we meet at locations detailed on our website and week-by-week itineraries.
Who . . . The majority of our camp guides have college or advanced degrees or are pursuing college degrees, are CPR and first aid certified, know how to use Epi-Pens.
Green . . . A portion of our week is spent giving kids an opportunity to make a difference in the community by working on restoration projects that connect them with the place where they live. We are “zero landfill” and use recycled materials when possible. We source all of our supplies from responsible vendors.
Food & Water . . . Participants are asked to bring a minimum of 20 oz. of water per day (younger children should bring two smaller bottles rather than one large bottle, no glass bottles please), snacks, and a waste-free, peanut and tree nut-free lunch. A reusable lunch bag does the trick or just place reusable containers in the backpack, with reusable accessories and a cloth napkin. Please label everything ith your camper’s name!
All programs are peanut and nut-free. Sunflower seed butter (“Sunbutter”) is a great alternative to peanut butter.
Our apologies but we do not offer lunch at this time.
Confirmation and Photos . . . After registration, you will receive an email confirmation providing the session(s) you have registered for. One week prior to camp, parents receive an Itinerary listing all of our meeting locations, daily themes and necessary items to bring to camp.
Please view our Flickr photo albums throughout the week. Photos can be downloaded for use in summer photo albums, etc.
Fees . . . Camp Fees are as noted in the Summer Camp Catalog and on the Registration page. Generous scholarships are available. Send us an email to inquire - info@maringreenplay.com.
Free . . . Before care is available and free for Grades K-2 from 8:30-9:00AM. Aftercare for Grades K-2 is available for a fee from 3-5 PM. Aftercare for Grades 3-6 is available and free from 4-5 PM. Please see the Summer Camp Catalog for more info.
Insurance and Permitting . . . Our camps are fully covered by liability insurance, and we have been permitted to use public land where permits are necessary. We have a perfect safety record and have never made a claim against our policies in all of the years we have been operating.
Air Quality . . . We will only hold camp if the air quality is in the green or yellow ranges at 8AM on the morning of any camp day per a reliable air quality monitoring service.
All camp enrollments are subject to the following Cancellation Policy.
Cancellation Policy Summer 2025
Summer program fees are not refundable. If you need to cancel, we may, depending on availability and other factors, be able to switch weeks to the same camp title at no additional fee. You may request a credit to be used for Summer 2026. If not, your program fees will be donated to our scholarship fund enabling kids to come to camp who might not otherwise be able to do so!
Of course, we will fully refund all fees paid toward any program that we cancel. If the week has already begun, and we have to cancel the session for all participants, we will prorate the fees accordingly. Decisions on whether we will hold a summer camp session due to lack of enrollment will be made and communicated by approximately June 1st for July programs and July 1st for August programs. We will let you know as soon as possible if a summer camp session will be cancelled by us for any reason.
If for some reason your child cannot complete a camp session (illness, etc.), no camp fees will be refunded.
We ask you to kindly respect our cancellation policy which reflects our status as a very small, local organization which cannot assume the risk of actions beyond our own. Thank you.
All enrollments are subject to the Waiver & Release. Click here to review.
